Hi

Does anyone know if you are entitled to DLA if your child has been disgnosed on the autistic spectrum?
I have recently been refused this, but also have not have a formal diagnosis yet, both of which are disappointing...hmm

Yes you can - go to the cerebra website they have a booklet to help you fill the forms in.

Possible, harder for children under the age of three.

DLA is given by account of the amount of extra care a person needs, regardless of diagnosis.

CAB or a local carers centre will also be able to help fill the forms.

Yes absolutely, my son is autistic and we get the middle rate of DLA, which also entitles me to carer's allowance.

I'm happy to send you my DLA application for inspiration, CAT me if you want it.

It does depend on the amount of care your child needs though Albi, and how much this differs for another child of same age.

yes you can get DLA my three have autism and get DLA.
if you post this in the special needs section you may get more mums of kids with autism to see it.
