Hello everyone, I need some opinions please. DS is 12 years old. He’s always been difficult, argumentative, mean to his sister and a general PITA. He lies all the time, even when it is blatantly obvious that he is lying. However, he can also be kind and funny. He’s quite an active boy, but not excessively so.
He started at senior school this year. He’s made no friends and is being bullied. The kids call him ‘retarded’ and tease him because he is not good at sport. He has retaliated a couple of times and has just been excluded temporarily for punching someone.
There have been a couple of school trips recently where apparently he has behaved like a wild animal and once wandered off to another place whilst on the school trip.
He keeps having meltdowns where he says he wants to kill himself and he ran away from home a few days ago. The police picked him up.
So here’s the thing... his school are convinced there is something wrong with him and have requested an ADHD diagnosis before he is allowed back into school.
However, he sees 2 psychologists regularly, one through the school and one outside school. He also spent 7 hours with 2 psychiatrists last week. And they have all said there is nothing wrong with him!
I don’t know what to do and would really appreciate some advice. Thanks.
