5.5yo With Speech Delay

My dds speech doesn't seem to be improving, she's has extra help with SALT through her school and has done since she started but its just not getting better.

The school are starting to become more concerned now as its keeping her behind on spelling and reading, she spells things how she'd pronounce them iyswim? The other children in her class(yr1) are starting to say things about it to her now which obviously upsets her.

I'm starting to wonder if something else is causing the poor speech instead of it just being down to a speech delay.

Sorry I'm rambling, I had a meeting with her teacher on Monday whilst dd was present and I could see how uncomfortable dd felt with us discussing her speech right in front of her. I just feel so bad for her, she's so well behaved and really tries hard at school, but her speech just holds her back so much. Sad
