Any suggestions, please? DS (9) seems to have anger issues, I am not doing well at helping him, and find that he knows exactly how to push my buttons. He doesn't seem to find peace until he pushes so hard that he makes us angry ourselves. For example, last night he splashed loads of water out of the bath while i was cooking dinner. I calmly asked him to get out of the bath, clean up the water and come down for dinner. Instead he must have decided i wasn't angry "enough" and he was spraying the shower head on the floor, until the water flooded the bathroom, out the room and down the stairs. He is almost permanently oppositional (his teacher who knew him extremely well suggested he had ODD). He is being tested for HFA (an ed psych in the UK who tested him said she thought he was, but she couldn't 'diagnose' officially). He has nocturnal epilepsy which can make him worse. He used to be quite violent but we thought we'd gotten him out of that, however he has now taken to hitting at school when he is being teased.
He LOVES to read so i'm wondering if there are some good books that might appeal to him? His reading age is quite advanced, but he is emotionally immature.
