Dyslexic DS - am I doing everything I can?

DS is profoundly dyslexic, has always been 2 - 3 years behind his peers in most subjects. I've been aware of this since he was a small child and he has varying levels of support. As well as the academic side, DS hates school, finds it stressful, and has associated anxiety. He is seeing a counsellor at school for this.

DS is 12, Year 8. The school are now putting forward an application for an EHC plan. Meanwhile...

I'm wondering if there is anything else, any other schemes or grants or initiatives that could help. Anyone else come across anything that was a bit of a game-changer for their dyslexic child?

As far as I can tell they need coping skills
Example using technology ClaroPDF readers, text to speech, etc
They also benifit from being read too to expose them to different language - or look into audio books or the Oxford Owl app
School should provide documents on yellow paper

Not sure what else as just starting the process
