Sorry if this is long.

Since y4 ds had fine motor skills training identified by his school. Handwriting c5 year old, no cycling no laces etc. I was pleased as he was getting help.

Half way through y5 we move out of London (divorce). New teacher complaining about his writing. I promt her re dysphraxia and three months on tells me he's fine and ds has no help. One month later tells me he didn't have a hope of doing 11+ as handwrightimg illegible. Yes, I knew that. year 6 teacher fears he'll do badly in SATs re handwriting. They plan on getting him scribe. It doesn't happen.

At this point DS adamant he will not go to high school as cannot do laces and wants to be home schooled. His confidence shot to pieces.

In meantime I went to Gp to get referral as school doing nothing. Told it wasn't their job. I'm later told this is not true. Went back and was referred to a place in Essex.

First appintnent we turned up had been cancelled without our knowledge. Second appointment I noted was for ADHA. When I called to query the day before I was told this was my relevant because also cancelled.
I complained and we had an actual appointment 3rd time round. The DR said he'd be a referred to OT.

Weeks on we get a letter from OT saying we'd get 'informational leaflets' and we should inform them of the leaflets we'd like.

So no assesment.WTF

Ds has had no help in 18 months. How he passed Sats I don't know.

Secondary school said they would help but haven't. Ds cannot read his own notes for homework so is therefore failing his homework! I'm doing my very best but can't help him.

Well done if you kept up. Ds will, in 4,years time fail his exams if we continue to get zero help.

Can anyone give me advice?

Can you have a meeting with the Senco and Try to get something in place? Can he use a laptop?
