Hello. My son in KS1 has autism and severe expressive language delay. He is cognitively very able and thus far we have battled to keep him in mainstream schooling. His current school is quite supportive and he has 1:1 support for 16-hours a week.
However as the demands of schooling have increased, we have noticed his anxiety getting worse and then that leads to behaviour. He is not accessing the classroom except for very brief periods, and all the other times he's with his 1:1 in a separate area. He is making progress academically and some progress in his social goals but has failed to access most areas of school life.
We have noticed his behaviour getting worse. He's lashing out more often and is smashing things. His school is suggesting looking at Gretton in Cambridgeshire as they seem to a good match for his needs.

Are there any parents on here who've had a more recent experience of Gretton?
