Hello everyone.

Our son has been out of education (self excluded) for 18 months. He is ASD (High Functioning) and ADHD. Now co-morbidly depressed and PTSD due to the violent bullying he suffered whilst in school. He was at a private day boys prep school (where the worst of the bullying took place) and managed nine days at state selective grammar school.

We are going to Tribunal in December over our parental preference choice of school which is Swalcliffe Park School, Oxfordshire, (this school has offered him a place) as Buckinghamshire LA have refused to accept the place and have named the Chiltern Way Federation (which is an EBD school with no ASD accreditation).

I know there are at least 2 or 3 other families (maybe more) with offers from Swalcliffe who are also being pushed to Tribunal by Bucks CC who have named the CWF in their cases also.

I would dearly love to hear from those families. Please PM me !

Any suggestions from any other source how I might get in touch with those families is much appreciated....

All the best,

Not sure if FACT Bucks would be able to help?

(I've changed my user name)

Thank you for the suggestion of FACT in Bucks. I have contacted them but don't hold up much hope. It sounds like a massive organisation.

Hi - yes us! Tribunal for mainstream v Swalcliffe in July. The authority filled a fast one and named CWA 1 week before so the hearing was CWA v Swalcliffe (parental preference). We lost on grounds of bests se of public spending. Spent the last 4 months being rejected from mainstream and one specialist (saying he's too academic with mainstream stating too big) and have found another specialist with comparative cost and suitability (LA have Cinemax it's cheaper) but are now saying No its CWA as that's what the hearing said. He's never gone there. At our wits end.

Hi all. Sorry to jump on this thread but we are thinking of moving to Wendover from London. We particularly wanted to visit chiltern way academy for our 6 year old DS with ASD. Can I ask what your reservations are about the school.
He is currently in a special, scjool locally but we find he's quite academic and the curriculum is very slow paced....
Thanks and sorry again for hijacking post....

When you appealed did you just appeal on Section I of the EHCP or Sections B and F too?

Equanimitas · 20/01/2020 01:22

If you are challenging section I, you really need to challenge B and F too. The local authority will have written F so that their school can meet all of its requirements - therefore if you don't challenge F, and if the LA school is cheaper, the tribunal will have no choice but to refuse your appeal.
