Helping dyslexic son more

My son was diagnosed last year and his school is very supportive and he's receiving extra help at almost 13 he has a reading age of 9. I have been trying to get him to read a bit more and we have a wide range of books and reading material to choose from but he finds it incredibly hard. I've been considering getting him a Kindle. Has anyone else with a dyslexic child used one and which is the ideal one to use. Thanks

Have you considered audio books?

If he has a difficulty with the mechanical process of decoding to read, then putting more reading in front of him is not likely to help that much. However, helping him see the joy in books and what they have to offer is another story (forgive the pun ;) ) entirely!
