My son is coming up for GCSEs in 18 months - he currently is entitled to 25% extra time due to poor working memory, planning, processing and very slow writing speed. I have been told that sometimes young people with such difficulties can get up to 100% extra time in their English Language exam - Has anyone experience of this ? He can write a good enough essay at home with plenty of time.......

Never heard of this but you can ask school to inquire with exam board and what assessment he need , to be entitled to this .
