My son, 12, dyspraxic has severe handwriting difficulties and OT/SENCO have recommended he be allowed to do work/exams on laptop, this means improving his typing. can anyone recommend any good typing tutor programs that would keep a 12 year old boy interested?

Have you looked on the BBC website? If not, try www.bbc.co.uk/typing

Typer Shark is a good laugh - it's a shareware game, so if you like it and get above a certain level then you have to buy it to unlock the rest of the levels, but it is good fun.

Touch Type Read and Spell is fabulous!
Used to have it on our school SEN network for all SEN students to improve their typing and it was really popular with 11 - 16 year olds.
You can get it personally and the school can also offer it. Check it out!!

Bit late to this but try Englishtype

You can download a trial version and then buy the software if you like it ...
