ok tonight dd, ds and i are sat sitting around the table having tea-we had just about finished when ds (2.3years)pinches dds)5.9 yrs) last grape off her plate..
her response" you are diahorrea ..poo..i could wipe you off my shoe"
i was totally shocked, furious, didn't know what to do or say
so i asked her why did you say that
"sorry" she says..no that's not an answer to my question says i....cue hysterical wailing and legs thrusting kicking from dd
she didn't know what it meant so i demanded to know who she heard say it and where(the only answer is school)
she finally shouts out a boys name from the juniors and says he has said it to her as no one wants her on their sports day team...cue more hysterics...(she only gave me the name when i said i was phoning to cancel our holiday as i was not pepared to go with a child that could be so naughty(re temper tantrum)and that could not be trusted to be nice to her brother...and speaking to headteacher in the morning........
i then sat down and comforted her and told her that she MUST tell me if she hears words like this or words that she doesn't understand or if words like this are being said to her by bigger children in the playground
what would you do?? did i do the right thing??
what do i do next?
ps dd has cp diplegia so yes i can imagine that this has been said and the named boy has said things before when he has been placed in football teams/group games with dd.....
just to complicate matters i also work at the school but not as a teacher...
your thoughts please would be gratefully appreciated as dh is away with workso have no one else to really ask....
thanks
