We've heard back and DS's assessment will go ahead, so he is likely to have a statement by January, probably before.

I'm still very unsure about sending DS to school at all, but this is definitely a major step forward Smile

So glad to read this re DS:).

May I respectfully suggest that when you do receive the proposed document you run it past the good people who post in the Special Needs; Children part of this website. In any event I would seek independent advice from IPSEA, ACE or SOSSEN (all are charities and thus fully independent of LEAs) re this document as Parts 2 and 3 of it need to be right; a statement that is neither specified nor quantified in terms of support is unlawful and should thus be rejected by you.

I mention that too as that particular forum receives far more daily traffic than this one does.

Well done. Did you initiate the process and how long did it last?

I agree with Attila my initial joy at receiving ds's proposed statement was short lived once I realised not one part of part 3 was quantified or specified.

What condition does he have? If it is neurological then cerebra are fantastic at helping with statements and meetings etc
