Adult ADHD, ANYONE EXPERIENCED?

Has anyone got any experience of being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult?
My Dr said I should get assessed by the Ed psychologist at my college (had the feeling she was passing the buck) because my college doesn't even have a lab and Im doing Biology!
So she said I have to make an appointment where assessment will commence.

Meant to be NHS but not every area has a service yet

Students whose ADHD affects their studies are eligible for extra help, and some educational psychologists can confirm or deny ADHD, at least to the university's requirements. It's not usually considered the same as a proper diagnosis by a psychiatrist and/or clinical psychologist. An ed psych can't advise on medications. You can apply for a grant to try & pay for ed psych.
