Hello,
Yesterday I recieved a letter with consent form im ds bookbag, the school want to put him on the special needs register. This has come totally out of the blue to me and im kind of devastated. Of course not because they are going to be helping him but because I just did not realise he was this bad.
I also recieved s&lt report yesterday and it says hes talking like a 3.5 yr old,hes 6yrs in a few weeks.

Im so angry this letter was just shoved in his bookbag and not explained to me fully.ive asked to speak to his teacher today at pick up.
I dont know why im posting on here, just need a rant and some support I guess.is anyone else going or been through this?
It also says briefly that he will be going on an iep,i thought these were discussed with parents, will I know if hes improving or not?

It does seem very insensitive behaviour to send that out in a letter.

The IEPs are discussed with the parents and his progressed fed back to you. I hope you were able to speak to his teacher today and have more information.

I have a child with autism and he has had IEP's from the start of nursery.

Good luck let us know how you got on. x

Speech and Language issues can be complex, have a look at this collection of Speech and Language Pathology research papers to help identify the specific issues affecting your DS
