Hello All,

Our LEA has at last decided to assess DS1 (ASD aged 10)and, although we are pleased/relieved to have made it over this hurdle, it does clearly state in the pack that they have sent to us that following an assessment he may still be turned down for a statement. Has anyone had any experience/know anyone that was turned down at this stage. The thought of having to go back to square one fills me with dread!

Im in the process of having dd2 seen privately by ed phyc as the school wont put her on the LEA list. Once i have the report i am applying for her statement again. You can apply 6 months after your first one. My school wont even put dd on SA+ or LEA list so she is unlikely to get statemented. Banadoes have been helping me and have said get a private report and reapply in 6 months.
