special school offering 'entry level' GCSEs

Can anyone tell me what 'entry level' GCSEs means?

thats interesting as a special i viewed mentioned entry level gcse s, i wondered what he meant

They're for students who are unlikely to achieve anything more than the lowest grade of GCSEs. They're more accessible and less daunting and give students a positive achievement instead of a poor or a failed GCSE, if that makes sense. Out of a cohort of 350 students each year (normal comprehensive) we put 2 or 3 in for entry level English as it's the qualification most appropriate for them.
