I wonder if anyone can help me with an assignment i have currently got on.

My brief is to plan design and make a SEN learning resourse.

The resource can be for any ages and any disability.

I have done my research into different SEN and have a basic knowledge of alot of conditions. I am however, a little stumped to come up with an original design that isnt out there already.

Any help is very much appreciated

Tom

Any ages and any disability?
Why would you want to make anything so generic?
Have you looked at the resources already available? All of them for all disabilities and age?
I think you need to be very specific about what you are trying to achieve or your search will be endless.

I'd choose an age and stage, focus on one learning difficulty and work from there. You don't have to re invent the wheel-tweek whats already out there ot create a better, more appropriate resource.

my ds is registered at a state of the art purpose built multi million special school, however he is stuck at home for issues the staff refuse to acknowledge!!

Think the thing I am trying to say is.....it doesn't matter how great the school is, is the staff are usless...............!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have managed to come up with a resource...

Its going to be a work table.

Its will have a white box top (to provide light) and will come with spaces to store pencils pens worksheets etc. it will have a magnetic top to hold the work being completed. The work top will be at a slanted angle. Will also produce an acetate timetable with various coloumns to help with the transition period between yrs 6 and 7, which can be filled in weekly by the teacher or SEN co-ord.

Any feedback and dos/donts is much appreciated
Tom

a create your own tomdoh (playdoh) kit... complete with accurate measuring cups for all ingredients different colours ( non toxic) possibly scented. Would also construct cards to copy and stencils and other exercises.
