Visual Timetables anyone?

Can anyone link me to any good resources for making visual timetables?

This is for a child who largely communicates in BSL so any with signing on would be really great.

You could try widget, communicate in print. Not a cheap package but are you needing it for school or at home?

BrigitBigKnickers, this is only half-helpful because they don't have signs, but if you look on www.twinkl.co.uk there are some nice pictures to use on a visual timetable. I think Widget uses the PECS symbols so they'd be kind of universally known (within the small world of people knowing about visual timetables).

SEN teacher website is a treasure trove.

Thank you for your interest in our products, we thought it might be helpful if we could clarify some things for you.

For Alwaysworthchecking,

Widgit do have BSL addons:

www.widgit.com/products/signwrite/index.htm

We also would like to explain some of the terminology used. We don't actually use 'PECS' symbols, we have our own Widgit Symbols that are used in PECS systems. PECS stands for Picture Exchange Communication System.

PECS also gets confused with PCS which is the Symbol Set from Mayor Johnson who produce Boardmaker.

Our Software can support many different symbol sets and details of those can be found on our page here:

www.widgit.com/products/index.htm#symbol_sets

If you need any more information please do let us know, either on here or by emailing [email protected].

We are also on Facebook if you want to get in touch!

You could try Do2learn. It's an American site but you can (or could when I used it) download the pictures and edit the text with Word or whatever your photo manager is.
