ds1 (4.5yrs) is being seen by ed psyc to help him intergrate into school. Not sure what the issue is at the moment - but he is having grommets in 2 weeks and we're hoping that helps - but one of the issues is that he takes such a long time to do things, I would describe him as a daydreamer/away with the fairies most of the time. He does do what he's asked but it takes him a while to get round to it, we see the same at home when asked, for example, to get dressed in the morning. Ed psyc suggested a timer - any recommendations? I know you can get great ones for SEN but I was thinking of something like a kitchen timer (as would be cheaper), would have to be digital and have a bell/audible finish so he can't ignore it (obviously the louder the better!) any suggestions?
or even any suggestions on how to keep a child on track and finish an activity in the time you want them too!
