Hi

Has anyone got any experience of this disorder please?

My DS is showing all the symptons (except behavioural) and teacher knows nothing about it.

So just wondering if anyone has any ideas...

Many thanks

Has it been diagnosed?

My mother has an APD (non behavioural).

No. Going into school later to discuss progress with DS teacher. She wants to get him assessed by SEN but doesn't know or wont say for what. I'm getting very confused but having done some research and speaking to a few people this fits him almost exactly so am starting to wonder if there is something to do with it.

am desperate for any help or info going Confused

My ds has an auditory processing disorder as one of the features of his dyspraxia. He finds it very difficult to absorb oral instructions and information, meaning that, for instance, for languages, he does much better learning the old fashioned way by reading and writing rather than by the more fashionable speaking and listening route.

He is quite bright but was becoming very demoralised at school until he was diagnosed and tweaks could be made to the way in which he is taught.

Do not worry too much: this does not mean anything really bad- it is just a way of finding out how best he learns. Get a good assessment then take it from there
