being observed ?

after starting high school and being very unhappy, mainly i think due to the environment of the school and some bullying, my son has stopped making any effort in class.
the school are having him observed by an sen they say.
what will they be looking for ?
what will happen ?
can anyone help ?

Its really quiet on here, try posting on special needs section theres loads of knowledgable people on there who will know what happens.

My Dd3 has been observed by a few different people in school ie, Headteacher/SENCO, Paediatrician and Speech and language lady.
They were all looking at different things.
