Hello,

I'm very new to this & trying to learn as I go, so asking for advise from people who have been there before me.

So exactly how do collaborations work?

For eg, if our venue was to host a cocktail making workshop would we:

  1. hire the cocktail company, us and them sell tickets, and split the ticket sales. If so what % split?
  2. hire the cocktail company, pay them directly, and we keep the ticket sales
  3. or something else I am missing

Any advice greatly received, thank you!

Do it however you want… generally whoever takes the most financial risk gets the bigger financial reward.

If it is your event then you hire them in and pay them, you then sell tickets and keep all the profits…

@akkakk thank you, that's really helpful & makes lots of sense!

Not quite the same but I have a yoga studio and we have guest teacher events, it depends how much expertise they bring, what audience they have or if we are driving all the sales, if it's on our site and we manage everything we would likely agree a set fee if we are confident in the bookings. Or you can do a percentage of the profit. You carry the risk so you need to know you will have the money coming in
