Are you a trained life coach and do you have a successful business?

Hi, thanks for looking at this thread!

I'm thinking of training as a coach. I've got the option here to qualify as a counsellor or peel off that path to coaching.
My heart tells me coaching is a better fit for me but I'm concerned that I won't be able to find enough clients to get by.
So I wondered if you have done the training what was your experience of setting up and getting work? If you are successful, what does that look like? How did you go about marketing etc?

I think I have found a good course so it's not the training I'm worried about but what happens afterwards and if it's an actual viable career?
The successful coaches I know of in my personal life are either corporate (which I'm not too interested in) or run membership services so they are coaching lots of people at once.

Any thoughts and opinions gratefully received!

Sorry I can't help with any of your questions.

I used to be a personal development coach it can be very rewarding but unless you do start doing workshops or one to many type things you will be working many hours for not much money.
I do small business coaching now and web design/marketing/social media as I needed a change lol.
but if it’s what you feel drawn to I’d say go for it. Try to niche down. Ideally do a unicorn client analysis (I offer these too) so you know who your are targeting and aim your advertising at that specific person. If you generalise you will find it much harder to find clients who stick with you xx
