Help Box Dye too dark!

I have been using a certain colour blonde box dye for ages now.All good .Stupidly I thought I would try a different shade (also blonde) Has come out really dark! Nothing like blonde at all.Can I re dye safely with my old product in 4 to 6 weeks does anyone know ? My birthday is around then and also going away for a few days . Help!

Box dye always comes out darker. I use shade 5 and it's very dark even though it says light brown. But no 6 is too gingery brown. I find Head and Shoulders will tone it down and I always use a semi for this reason.
