Making a privately owned building available to charities whilst also hosting events and private hire

I have a building that I would like to make available to charities to use free of charge, whilst also using the space myself to host events that I would sell tickets for, to help cover the running costs of the building. The building could also be made available for private hire. What legal, financial or other elements should I be considering and/or putting in place? Many thanks.

I think possibly you should choose one or the other. Either use it yourself, or allow charities to use it , and find a kind of middleman that works with charities to facilitate this. If it’s a commercial building you can benefit from rates reduction this way.
