I have an idea for an online business and looking to do some research on getting stock. Do most people import from abroad or buy from UK wholesalers?

@Imtoooldforallthis did you ever get any advice on this OP? Came on to ask the exact same thing

It depends on what you are buying, what your buying power is like and whether you want to buy the same stuff that everyone else buys. If you don't have a big budget you're pretty much looking at the UK only but then that's where most new businesses start and you will be fighting over pennies on starting prices. If you can spend big, there's always China, but they already sell over here on the major sites like Amazon and eBay.

If you buy from UK wholesalers, the likelihood is, so is everyone else so you'll all have the same product. You only have to look at fast fashion brands based in Manchester to see they all have the same product.
Buying from China, I would advise getting samples first to check quality and don't forget you will incur import charges on your delivery. Look at AliBaba for Chinese wholesalers.
You need to research your market well. If you know what type of product you need I might be able to help you source it.
