Small businesses - will you be paying your staff if they have to self isolate.

I run a small business. I don't offer anything over and above statutory sick pay.

I would like to do the right thing and perhaps offer an extra 2 weeks full or half pay this year due to the pandemic.

What are others doing.

I have 3 staff members, all part time. 1 of which has been with me for over 2 years, the others are quite new.

I think it would be better to offer proper sickpay. You could limit it to x number of weeks per year on a sliding scale, according to length of service.

How many weeks is usual? Any ideas.

This is what I have always been stumped on. I think my longer term employee gets £250 a year before SSP. (I would need to look it up)

But I know when I did her contract I had no idea what to put in.
