'Froggy legs' in a Connecta?

As I could have predicted when I bought it, I've lost the little thingy that makes the bottom of the Connecta small enough for newborn legs to pop out. I could just tie the bottom of the Connecta with something but I was wondering if I could just pop her in but keep her legs inside - all froggy like you do with a ring sling?

She's 4 weeks old btw.

I think you'd have to 'check your work' as they love to say on thebabywearer.com in a mirror to be sure you're happy with safety. Personally I don't see why not (iirc it's got straps that join at the side so there's less space to slip sideways than in a mei tai, yes?) but do it once over a bed, in front of a mirror, and see how secure (and comfy) you both feel!

The only other issue I can see is that if it pushes her away from you at all, in which case, at 4wks with little head control it might not be quite supportive enough? Froggy legs are great in a stretchy wrap when they're really tucked into you, but not sure I would have wanted to do it in my mei tai/ergo. Probably depends on the physique of you and your babe.

Thanks Mij, that's really helpful. I'll practice in front of a mirror and see how well supported she is.
