best wrap?

I think kari me, close and moby's are classed as wraps?

Can anyone suggest which of above would suit me best. I need a wrap that I can put on in the house, then drive to park or school and just pop baby into.

My baby is only 8 days old and I have 3 other children so want a sling that I can also use in the house when dealing with other children etc.

I would also like the sling to do me for 6 possibly 8 months. Is that realistic?

I like the reviews of the moby but don't fancy trying to put it on outside. I have read that either the kari me or close is only really good for first few months.

Any recommendations greatly welcome. Thanks.

i would get a moby. i LOVED mine and pretty much lived in it when ds2 and ds3 were little

moby and kari-me are basically the same, a long length of material. you get use to putting it on and off.

Thanks for reply. I was swaying more towards the moby but am just worried about trying to put it on outside, bits of material in puddles etc.

I have a kari-me, I generally put it on before we go anywhere if I know I'm going to need to use it. Other than that I have managed to put it on whilst the ends are in the car IYSWIM. It's great, I love it, but it is quite hot in this weather.

i bought a freedom sling, after trying numerous others...it's ok but pulls a bit on my shoulder.thh..all of the ones i've tried cause either back ache or shoulder ache after a while

Thanks again for replies.

I am now swaying between kari me and moby. Reviews for both are good.

I was a bit worried about heat but thought might be ok if I keep baby in just a vest.

I wore my newborn in a moby, but did find the fabric too much so got a Calin Bleu non woven. To be honest you can get a much better carry in one and you get used to it so it takes literally 10 seconds -- and it's so light. Then I also used a Girasol which is like a Didymos, but which I found in a nice grey instead of hippy stripes.

But the moby is great for younger babies. Just didn't see the point in wearing it, to pop them in. Just take on and off.

i use a pouch sling for exactly the purpose you need one for.
i have a murron's pouch from freedom slings but have just ordered a plush rockin baby one.
