Can you do one in a kari me? Will it be more comfy than the kari me hug hold (where you tie on the sling and insert baby?)

You can do one in a kari me - you just don't put the crosses through the cummerbund, put the baby in the cummerbund and cross over/under the legs. Be aware that a stretchy does not wrap the same as a woven, so don't try to copy fwcc videos exactly - always keep a hand on your baby when wrapping around them with a stretchy. Try to tie as tight as a bandage and eliminate as much bounce as possible, but you will still need to undo the knot and tighten every couple of hours. Baby should be sat around you in a seated position with knees higher than bum. The hug hold is known as pwcc (pretied or pocket wrap cross carry) if you wanted to do a search for tips and tweaks - the main advantage of a stretchy is the pre-tying. If you are wanting to learn fwcc and get into wrapping I recommend a woven.

Normality, thanks! Are woven wraps better or just different? We've used stretchy with dc1 and I am now using it with dc2 while dc1 is in buggy. No 2 is heavier than 1 and my core muscles seem to have disappeared with pregnancy so he's already hurting mu neck and back on longer trips. I have an ergo but really prefer my wrap so I can carry 10 wk old while chasing toddler!

Wovens are much more supportive and can be used on the back which stretchies cannot. They are better for hip carries too. They take a bit more knack to master which is why a lot of people start with stretchies.

It is only necessary to support the baby with a hand when wrapping them, not after unless you are doing something particularly bendy.

If you wanted a woven you'd be looking for a good second hand german style woven (GSW) such as girasol, didymos, storchenwiege, natibaby, bbslen, lana, vatanai in an approximate 4.6m length for fwcc (more if you are large, less if you are small)

Woven hold their value exceptionally well - in fact it is an advantage to buy preloved as they are so broken in and soft. So buying one is a fairly risk free investment provided you don't put holes in it (very hard to do!) A good woven should last you many years.

Neither calin bleu nor ellaroo are german style wovens. If you want GSWs check out German ebay and google translate. Be sure to check they take paypal and post within the EU and you're good to go. Hundreds on there
