Ergo question

I have an Ergo...and I love it! It was given to me by a friend (I'm a lucky mama) so I'm not sure of the instructions.
DS loves being carried on the front. However I thought I'd try the back carry. What would be a good age for the back carry? DS is a strong wee chappy. He is 8.5 months, walking well and about 20lbs.
Also, what is the maximum weight the Ergo will take? What is the heaviest you have carried? DD (age 5.2/33lbs is desperate to try it out one day)...I don't want to risk breaking it or stretching it just to let her have a try!
If you are thinking of an Ergo, go for it. I'm so impressed.

I carried dd aged 5 in it. Don't recall her weight. You won't want to be doing it for more than a few mins tho as I found dds feet constantly kicked me as I walked.

I'd say that you could put him in the back carry now. I think freerangekids.co.uk have instructions on their site, if ergo don't. ( using phone so can't check myself)

Instructions def online somewhere, we have looked them up before (also on phone so not able to check). Think it was the US Ergo site.

My ergo (four years old) says max weight 40 lbs.

18kg or 40lbs weight limit. Your DS should be ready for back carry now. See Ergo website FAQ.

20lbs is the usual time to change from a front carry to a back carry.
