2.5 weeks after C-section; can I try 8lb DD in our sling yet?

We've got an Ergo, not tried it yet. I have to go and collect ds from nursery shortly, first time I've done it since dd arrived, and am worried that it will be really awkward on the bus trying to manage newborn dd in pram and him in tired toddler mode.

My scar is not totally healed yet, but as I am constantly carrying the baby around the flat anyway, is it really out of the question to try popping her in the sling for a 45-min round trip? Don't want to be stupid/hurt myself but I am really tempted.

i'd be careful going out so soon after a cs, i got a right bollocking from the midwife when i mentioned going for a stroll down to the corner shop at about 4 weeks after mine, i should be resting.

oh god, really?! I thought walking was ok! I am by no means a fit or physically ambitious sort but honestly, it seems impossible to live life without a bit of moving around ... now that dp is back at the office we have no choice!

Maybe sling is a bit too much this week though, on reflection.

id take it very carefully then if there is no-one else around to help. do you have some stomache-sucking-in pants that could help support the scar?

i know how you feel, i was gagging to get out and about.
