Best sling for 5 foot 2 weakling ! ?

My friend is due in the next few days and is a self described 5 foot 2, petite framed, weakling with a bad shoulder ! She is thinking of using a sling and wondering which one would suit her best. I have the Close sling which she will try out and she has been given a Baby Bjorn but I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for any others that might suit her frame and not put too much strain on her shoulder.

Hi I have a wrap sling (a Moby to be precise) and love it. I am just under 5ft with back problems and the good thing about it is that the weight is really evenly distributed over your body. Would highly recommend one of these. I had a structured one similar to Baby Bjorn and didn't find it nearly as good (BB also a faff with lots of fastenings, can't move baby in and out without undoing it etc)

Any kind of stretchy wrap is the best for little babies (e.g. Moby, Hug a Bub, Kari-Me). I've not tried a Close, but that's probably similar. The only thing is if it's a very hot summer it might be a little warm, in which case you could look at a ring sling, pouch or mei tai. Pouches and ring slings are usually sized SML so she can get one to fit.

Since she is so petite, she can get a stretchy sling and cut it down to size. they are about 5.2m long and she won't need it to be longer than 4m.

Since she is having a summer baby, she may like to try a gauze woven wrap which is lighter than the stretchy ones but some newbies find have a slightly longer learning curve. Again 4m will be enough fabric for her.
