Can anyone recommend me a back carrier

I've carried my now 15-month old so far using a Girasol woven wrap, a Calin Bleu and an Ergo (can't rate it highly enough and DH loves it)

I haven't bought a pram and am loath to, to be honest, but thought my DH would like to switch the Ergo with a back pack thing as he looks after her 3 days a week.

Can they sleep in them?

Any issues I should be aware of, and can you recommend any brands?

Many thanks in advance.

Do you mean a framed carrier ? I had a Bush Baby Elite, and it was pretty good as they go, but DH and I both prefer a meitai. The good thing about the Elite was that you could really load it up with stuff for a day out, or with a big shopping load.

Yes, a framed carrier and yes would help if you could load it up.

This is because we don't have any pram at all so to have the benefit of some carry space would be good.

We have a mei tai and obviously you can back carry with the wrap and the Ergo, but DH isn't into the wrapping lark!

we have a Vaude Jolly Light and it is fab - they do sleep in them and if you=re careful you can even take it off and stand it on the floor of a cafe without waking them...

Is there any shop where you can try several out? It seems they are a niche thing and just have to order off the internet and send back if you don't like.

John Lewis didn't have a great selection.

My DH wants something smallish and not one of the huge huge hiking ones with loads of storage space.

We have a mac pack and it's great. Outdoorsy type shops usually have a selection you can try.
