Sling recommendations - help for a lockdown FTM

Hi

Due to the current restrictions, my DH and I are planning to buy a car seat and baby sling for our little one (due Sept) until we can properly get out and choose a suitable pushchair. We live very urban (city) and everything is well within walking distance so thought this might be a good option for us.

Local sling library is closed so need help choosing a sling!

I'd like a fabric one that I can wear comfortably at home as well as out and about and hope to use from newborn.

What would you recommend? And do you think it is manageable to have sling and not have a pushchair to start with?

Thanks from a FTM

Never bothered with pushchairs! Babies love slings! Close to your heartbeat and tucked in. Also so nice when it's cold to have a little hot water bottle fastened to you.
I've tried every sling under the sun-
Boba wraps are amazing for new borns and as they get bigger you can still use them but I go for a boba ergonomic sling.
As far as the wrap goes don't be intimidated by the instructions- once you've done it a couple of times it's easy- practice with a teddy bear!

I use a Tula free to grow. It’s suitable from newborn and it’s fab.
My baby loves being in it, it’s super comfy to wear, fully adjustable for baby and mum. Baby feels very well supported in it.
They come in fab patterns and designs.
Have a look at their website, they make a few different types of slings!

Thanks @PLaurel19 I will check out Boba!

I've actually just glanced at Tula @dochas06 and they have some gorgeous designs! Thanks ladies.

Is Tula classed as slings or carriers? What's the benefit of a carrier over a sling (or vice versa)?

Tula have one that is part carrier part sling. The rest are carriers.
I have a close to me sling as well, I find it very unsupportive, and I feel like I have to have my hand under babies bum the whole time incase it slips down.
I find it much easier to get her in and out of the free to grow, it’s neater, cool to wear.
Overall I find the free to grow much less faff. But I know others will say they prefer a sling

Thank you @dochas06. Do you only use your free-to-grow if you go out and about or do you use it at home too? Sorry for all thr questions!

Use it for both, it’s not so good for sitting down with her in for long periods, more because I sit in odd positions! but I do house stuff, hoovering, cooking ect with her in it if she’s having a day of wanting to be held all the time. She sleeps well in it but can also see out when she’s awake.

I just bought a Tula Explore as they had a sale on that ends today. Eeeek. Is it sad that I'm so excited! May well put the money saved towards a Boba wrap sling as @PLaurel19 recommended (love the courts on the website) for using at home so I can leave it on, or is that overkill?

Colours that was meant to say, not courts!

I got a wrap sling in my baby box but haven’t used it!
