Ergobaby advice

I currently have an ergobaby 360 from the library, and am looking to buy my own. Could anyone help with the following questions?

Is the mesh version much cooler? For who- me or baby? We both get verry hot in the carriers at the moment.

Does the 360 fit significantly different to the omni 360?

How long do people use these carriers for in real life? I'm aware of the weight limit, but wonder if they get uncomfy before this? I could rent my library one for almost a year for the cost of a new one. (It's a horrible colour though).

Thanks for anyadvice.

I have an omni 360 mesh and still use it with my 15 month old. Wouldn’t be without it. Haven’t tried the 360 or non mesh versions but I didn’t overheat even in the hot summer last year. My 6 ft 6 husband also uses it and doesn’t overheat. We sometimes take it alongside the pushchair as dd doesn’t like to nap in it much anymore and she’s not walking yet.

How easy is it to put on and does baby move around?

GreyDuck · 24/04/2019 09:09

Hi ShabbyAbby. I find it quite easy to put on. It has a waist belt, shoulder straps and a clip across the back. You can watch you tube videos on how to put it on. Rather than doing the clip up behind me, i find it easier to have the shoulder straps really loose and pull the (done up) back strap over my head. Then tighten the shoulder straps. My baby is 7m and feels very secure in it. You need an insert for bavies unser 3m.

Hi GreyDuck, have you bought the mesh version of omni? Is it really better than the cotton one? Much lighter too?

DH doesn't think it's worth it, but I found the normal one (cotton) is far too bulky and really heavy. I returned it right away and now am thinking to get the mesh one.

I got the non-mesh version in the end. I saw some 2nd hand mesh ones where the back strap was broken. It clips onto the shoulder straps on the mesh, but loops around them in the original. It seems a better design.

Have never tried the mesh so I don't know how much cooler it would be, but I get hottest from where my baby touches me, not the carrier. Not sure how it could help with that.

Thanks! It does seem to be the case about the hottest point is the skin-touching part...

Good point about the clip on mesh. I will look into it before making up my mind. I just felt the cotton one really heavy and bulky when put one. Maybe the pure black colour reinforced the impression.

Pretty sturdy though.
