My baby is 5lbs born at 37 weeks is a sling/ baby carrier safe

Has any one used a sling or carrier with a 5lb baby? I have the ergo baby carrier and want to buy a sling (maybe the ktan) but just wanted to be reassured that if I use it around and out of the house that it's safe for baby? Have other people have done this? The manufacturers give 7lbs as starting weight

I can't remember exactly when we started to use a sling with our prem baby, but we got one that had extra head support as that was the main thing that we were worried about

If the manufacturer doesn't recommend use before 7lb, though, why would you chance it?

Sorry but I don’t think it’s safe for a baby that small. Swaddle and put in a Moses basket or pram instead. Put a work item of your clothing in too?
They’ll soon be 7lb and able to use sling

The caboo close to me has a newborn hold but I think it’s from 7lbs.

I put my DS in it at 6lbs 8 I think as he was long enough & supported.

May have to wait a bit, ergo will definitely need the newborn insert when they are ready for that.
