Sling for a small person!

Hello, I am looking for sling recommendations, I'll probably hire first before I buy. I am hoping to get to a sling library but my local one isn't open much over the summer.

I'm only just over 5 foot and fairly slim. I also had a c section so my stomach muscles are almost non existent. We have an ergo but it feels huge on me and a bit uncomfortable on my tummy.

Any recommendations for anything easy to put on alone? Baby is 10 weeks old. I take her out in the buggy a lot but would like to do more with the sling.

I'm similar size to you and I used a close carrier when babies were small (up to 4 months) and now we have a Tula which I love. DH also gets on well with it and he's 6ft. Very similar to Ergo though I think. Connecta was also ok, and they do a petite version, but I prefer the padding of the Tula.
I also liked the Mei Tei but the long straps were a pain, being short!

I'm 5ft and also had a close caboo when dc was small then got a standard tula when he was about 5 months. You would probably need an infant insert or a you could look at the tula free to grow which are suitable from 7lbs (I think). My dh is also 6ft and also uses the tula. My ds is now nearly 3 and still goes up when we go on long days out. We haven't used the buggy since he was about 6 months old.

Close caboo would be my recommendation; it doesnt push against a c section scar and is easy to put on plus small babies love it.

A close caboo or stretchy wrap would be great, then after the summer you could always visit the sling library to try a few buckle carriers or woven wraps once baby is bigger.

We also used a caboo until about 5 months, really easy to use. Then tried a few buckle carriers with sling library. I'm similar build to you and found a Nova suited me best. Unlike the connector it has a little padding on the waist but not all the way round like the bulkier soft structured carriers iyswim. Unfortunately I think they have just gone out of business but I got one second hand on a facebook group. Try 'affordable baby slings for sale or swap'.

Thanks all, I do have a caboo actually. My (very tall) husband has been using that but maybe we should swap. I can try that and he can try the Ergo. Then I can get to a sling library at some point.

I'm 5'3 and have very small torso. I had a caboo and found it good for newborn but not great after that. The Beco Gemini however is fantastic, I bought it because I found reviews saying it was good for petites, but my 6'3 dh can also use it as the straps extend a lot. Highly recommended - so so comfy and lots of positions.

I had a moby when dd was tiny and then moved to the ergobaby when she got bigger. I'm v short too and they both work brilliantly for me. Still use the moby round the house, the ergo is better for trips out. Both of them are really easy to get baby in once you've practiced a couple of times.
