Washing woven wraps

Evening, this morning I mentioned in passing to my husband that I needed to wash my wraps. Went to work and have come home to lovely washed wraps drying. Thank you husband

However, he didn't know that they have special washing instructions! D'oh!

Does anyone know if my wraps will be ok? They were on a 30 degree regular wash with fabric softener and they all are supposed to be washed without. Two are didymos and one is a yaro sling.

All those wraps are 100% organic cotton, perfectly fine to go in your washing machine and tumble dryer.

It's recommended that you don't use detergent with optical brighteners in, as these can cause a build up on the fabrics over time. Using something like ecover on them (and no fabric conditioner) is best, but I doubt you'll have done any harm this time.

Just be careful about washing them with fabrics containing zips, hooks or velcro, sometimes they can get caught, pretty sure your wraps have a tight weave though so shouldn't pull easily.

If you're in the UK you can find ecover in pretty much any supermarket.

Fabric softener could make them slippy, if it does you can rewash without.

I think you should rewash them. If you don't have Ecover then do it without any detergent. The fabric softener will make them slippy so you'll need to get that out of them. If your washing machine lets you add extra rinse cycles then that would help. Be warned that it could affect the resale value since some people won't touch a wrap that's been washed using fabric softener.

Thanks guys, I've used my yaro wrap twice now before reading your replies it seemed fine but I will rewash to make sure the softener comes out. I'm going to a sling meet next week so I'll bring them along and see what the consultant thinks of them too.
