Kari Me slings

Hi everyone
I'm expecting DD2 next week and am thinking a sling would be a good idea as I also have a 2.8month old DD1. We bought a baby born with DD1 but never really used it.
I went to a sling meet today where I was shown a Kari Me stretchy sling and a Mei Tai. I liked how comfy and high up the Kari Me was worn but was told they are only really good until the baby is about 4 months old. Does anyone have any advice about this? Pros and cons of them would be appreciated!
Thanks

I don't think that's true. I used mine until over a year old. I believe they can be used for toddler 15 kg? But you might prefer a mei Tai once baby a bit older. But they would know at the sling library.

Check on Kari Me website.

Kari Me slings are weight tested to considerably more than the weight of the average four month old. However, I found there was too much bounce in the jersey type slings after around four months. I switched to a woven fabric after that stage and was much more comfortable.

They are brilliant for the early stages though and easy to learn to tie. I'd recommend buying a second hand one from one of the Facebook sling selling pages, and you can resell it when you are done. I don't use my Kari Me but I keep it to lend out to friends, and it is on its sixth baby now 😀.
