I am on the large side (size 22/apple shape with big boobs). Currently using a moby and love it as it's so comfy and with no bucles and straps that need ajusting or that dig in.
I am going home to the south of france this summer to introduce DD to the family, and was thinking of a mei tai? I just think the moby will be too hot. Any recommendations?
It doesn't have to be though, I am open to suggestions.

Do you have a sling meet or sling library locally? That is the best starting place I reckon to find out new things.

I think the moby will be starting to become uncomfortable by 10 months, anyway. Mei Tais are definitely a good idea, but I'd try one out if you can.

I am identical to you - I had mei tai but at 10 months we were coming to the end of using the mei tai on my front as she was getting too heavy. I bought a Tula for back carrying to replace, nice long straps so no probs with being too short. A Connecta has much shorter straps so I would avoid one of those.

Hope that helps. Would also be worth popping to local sling library to try out a few different types

I'd get a meitai as they are so flexible with an older baby. We had a few, and as dh is large, got them with XL straps so they fitted beautifully. I had a babyhawk then toddlerhawk

I also think the moby will have been outgrown by 10 months. We borrowed a summer weight connecta sling from our local sling library for my 18 month old. It was fab. Yes, it clipped in, but was really comfortable, even in 30+ heat. Just make sure you sun cream the back of DS's legs. Managed to make our LO's legs go a Bit red one day.

I've got a baby hawk mei tai and I don't really like it for older babies if I'm honest. What about looking at buckles like a Tula or Ergo? Or a Madame Googoo? Failing that, if you like using the Moby, what about changing to a woven wrap? They do take some practice at first, but you quickly get used to them and they're extremely versatile.

It is a good idea to go to a sling meet or library to try some different things though.
