Solutions to Baby wearing problems

Came across this article on the disadvantages on babywearing this morning. It makes some fair points, but I wonder if anyone has any homebrew solutions to some of these problems?

Obviously ones like not being able to carry hot drinks or the sheer volume of slings available have to just be taken in stride, but has anyone found a good way to deal with spit-up/vomit or finding ways to carry everything?

When I front carried ds I used a little rucksack. Now we back carry I don't know, although now he's a bit older I can usually get away with one nappy, small pack of wipes, one bottle in a smallish handbag as long as it's just popping into town. Touch wood he's not a dribbly or sicky baby so that was never a big problem.

you can tuck a muslin between you and the baby to catch a bit of spitup or make it feel a bit less sticky in the summer. Figuring out what to do with the stuff is trickier especially when the baby is big enough for a back carry but I can manage a smallish shoulder back while baby wearing when using train/bus/tube or for longer days out in the city I take a rolly shopping bag which is easier to manage on busses than a pram.

My boba 4g has a poppered strap on the shoulder to hold a bag in place- it seems like a stupid gimmick but is actually really useful!

For hot drinks I have one of these - absolutely, completely and utterly spill proof. On a bad day I do the school run with a baby in the sling, coffee in hand.

Nowhere to hang you nappy bag - another excuse to spend money...all you need is a 'babywearing' bag, just google Onbag, I did not know such things existed!
