Best wrap for summer newborn

I'm due in mid June with DC3 and looking for a lightweight, cool wrap.

I suspect I'll be carrying the baby a lot as I did with the other 2, and I now have school/nursery runs to accomplish where going hands free will be even more helpful. We are also going to be in the Med for about 3 weeks over the summer so I need something that will work in hot, sweaty conditions.

I don't know if it is relevant, but the last 2 were both 9lbs at birth so reasonably hefty from the start and I suspect I might be heading the same way with this one. I am 5ft6 and buxom while DH is 6ft2 and very slim so we need a recommendation that can suit our disparate physiques as he loves a good cuddle/carry with his babies as much as I do!

We have an Ergo which we love and will use in the autumn but the newborn insert will make it too hot and bulky for summer so I'm guessing a wrap type thing - like Moby or Hana will be best. Any thoughts on what we can try?

Thanks!

The Cailin Bleu gauze wrap is lovely. DS2 was nearly 10lb at birth (and was born in a heatwave) and I carried him with no problems for ages. We also took it on holiday to the Canaries and it was perfect.

I also used a ring sling a lot with him, great for breastfeeding on the go and only 1 layer of fabric over the baby so nice and cool.

Second the Calin Bleu suggestion. Or Wrapsody Bali Breeze. I'm not sure from your post if you've used stretchy or woven wraps before. Both the above behave like a woven (i.e. you tie them around the baby) but both are lightweight and lovely and cool in summer.

I've used neither! My Ergo has been much loved and used with the previous 2 so never needed anything else but I've not had a summer baby before and it will be too heavy with the insert for the summer months so looking for something much lighter.

If you want a stretchy, go for the Hana over the Moby - it is thinner and much cooler.

if you've used neither, stretchy can be easier to start with. agree with pp the hana baby is nice and light, Moby is heavy and hot

Thanks. I'll have a look at the Hana first. There are a few mums at school with stretchy ones - will see if I can see the label and start a conversation!
