R&R or Tula ssc for 3.5 year old?

Still carrying my 3.5 year old in basic connecta. Need to move onto something bigger and more suitable.

I'd like to stick to full buckles. Probably likely to do back carry but maybe the odd short front one.

Thinking preschool rose and rebellion. Or maybe a toddler Tula? (Read elsewhere that its big).

Would love any advice. Anybody got either of these and can comment on size, comfort etc?

I personally think that it depends on what size you are and how high you like to carry your DC.

I have a Tula toddler which I love and had an R&R pre school which I sold.

The Tula does up tighter on the waist buckle than the R&R and the straps are still really padded but narrower which I found better. I loved the style of the R&R but it was all too large for me and I felt swamped, that said, because of the shape of it when DD (aged 5 at the time) had a go it fitted her really well.

The tula does up tight enough for me, I buckle it under my bra so that DS can see over my shoulders, I am a 32 so not tiny, but with the R&R I struggled to get it tight enough. The shoulder straps on the Tula tighten nicely as well, all of the straps have a ridiculous amount of 'extra' so if you need to share the the sling with your DH it should be ok.

Connecta do a toddler now though...I might get one because they fold up so small and I love the prints (they do those stripy ones made from wraps...).

I was all sold on the pre school r & r. Simply because she isn't really a toddler any more and I thought a pre school size would be more appropriate and I guess last longer.

Then somebody on another site said the toddler Tula does her big four year old son easily. Which is what made me think of that

I am small and slim so don't want anything too big and obviously need to get straps sufficiently tight.

If you are small i wouldnt reccommend the r&r, although i havent tried one. I have read loads of reports of the straps being very long and hard to get comfy.
Toddler connecta are great, you can get them with petite straps (which for your sizing sounds like it might be the best option whichever fb you get)
I would look at the Kinderpack, they are widely raved about by buckle lovers and they do a preschool size, usually go for £120 ish preloved but hold their value, I have bought and sold shed loads of slings and never lost any money.

Also meant to say KP come with petite straps or with 'pfa' perfect fit adjusters to help adjust the straps much more than a normal buckle carrier.

Boba 4g has stirrups to help older children keep comfortable leg position, might be another consideration. Itsaslingthing does postal hire if you want to try some out?

They don't have boba sorry, but have lots of preschool specific ones :)

I've looked at the toddler connecta and it seems to be marketed for up to three years old. Dd is three and a half already so it seems daft to buy one now. Though I might sell my standard connecta and get a toddler one for younger 20 month old dd.

I also have a size four woven wrap but I haven't invested the time in practicing using that. It was bought for hip carries for younger dd but I wonder if I should try elder on my back with it...

Buckles just seem so much simpler. And I guess are what I'm used to

I have had a look at the kinderpack and I think it looks fab. Now I just need to find a nice second hand one.

I have found a pre loved toddler kinderpack for £130 all in. The lady selling it says she has only used it a couple of times so its in as new condition.

Fingers crossed it lives up to my expectations!
