Help! Baby has stopped liking his sling!

Ds loved the kari me but at 3.5 months he now really wriggles and moans in it and his back sags if he sleeps, however tight I tie it.

There is no sling library near me so I bought a connecta integra after reading lots of positive reviews. Ds hates it. I think he is far too small for it, and I don't like the buckles or material -after the Kari me it seems really hard and cuts into his skin.

Help! I can't go anywhere or do anything. Does anyone have any tips either for a) using a Kari me for a baby this age (who can't yet face forward) or b) using a connecta. Ds is average for his age and both slings say they are suitable so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Not a complete answer I'm afraid, but maybe better than nothing.

3.5mths can be a tricky age for most SSCs (Connecta-style carriers) because they're not quite big enough for their legs to fit comfortably. I think you can make the Connecta a bit smaller by rolling the waistband up, but I've never used one personally so may not be true. If you're really not keen on the Connecta you can probably recoup most of your money by selling it on - via facebook (slings and things FSOT group) is prob best bet. Then try something else - maybe a different SSC, maybe a woven wrap or ring sling. Some sling libraries do postal loans even if you're nowhere near.

Kari-me may go a bit tighter if you wash it. I'm not sure what you mean about back sagging - a good position means for the spine to be curved slightly in a C-shape - this is the normal infant spine position, it gradually becomes more 'adult-shaped' as they gain the strength to sit and stand.
