structured sling without a back clasp

Hi, I've tried so many slings since my son was born in March. None have been suitable for me, so I splashed out and bought the ergo. I really do love it, but struggle to do up the back strap.

I'm short, so maybe that's something to do with it, but I get all hot and flustered trying to reach back and do the clasp up!

I saw good reviews about the connecta. That seems to buckle at the side.

Any other suggestions? Also, can a kari me be used for an older child? 6 months and above?

The Manduca is a similar style to the Ergo, but you can cross the straps across your back so that you buckle them by your sides and don't have to do up the strap behind you at all.

However, there is a knack to doing the strap on the ergo. When you put it on, have the shoulder straps loosened by approx 4-6 inches from where you need them (not so loose you risk dropping your child, but several inches from their fully tightened position). Ease the straps forward by pulling them down from the front, so that the back strap comes up to the top of your neck. Fasten it (easily!) right behind your neck. When you tighten the straps, it should pull the strap back to the correct height between your shoulder blades.
Does that make sense? I should make a video really as explain this to people all the time....

Oh, that sounds like something to try. I used to loosen the clasp strap as far as it would go, put it over my head, clip it together, then put it back over my head and try to tighten the strap! Your idea sounds much more sensible!
