Moby help please!

I'm trying my moby with three-week-old dd and think I'm using it OK, but when she falls asleep her head tucks into her chest - how do I use it so this doesn't happen? When she's awake it's fine - I can see her face, can fit two fingers under her chin etc. But as soon as she falls asleep she looks like she's going to suffocate and I take her out - this is clearly not going to work outside the house unless I can get it sorted! Any tips please?

Can you tuck her bum further across your body, do she is slightly more horizontal than vertical?

Or, have you tried a legs out rather than newborn hold, so she is between your boobs?

Also, is it tight enough? You should be able to move her slightly once tied, but if you lean forward she should stay against your body. Its possible you've wrapped too loosely, and tightening will support her head when sleeping, so she doesn't scrunch up.

Persevere with baby wearing - it was fantastic to be able to go about town with just baby in a sling, and not need to worry about where all the lifts / ramps were!

It's ppossible it was too loose as the first time I tried it was way too tight (could hardly get her in) so I may have overcompensated the other way. I'll try your other ideas tomorrow, thanks. Definitely want to get it sorted as we live in the countryside so buggies aren't great for walking far. If I'm doing it right, should her head be supported by the shoulder strap not closest to my body, or by the horizontal bit across your tummy that you pull up over baby? I can't work this bit out from the website!

the bit that you pull up as the "locking" mechanism should come up to her shoulders, and her head should be in a pocket in the shoulder piece of fabric.
Infact, are you gathering and wrapping, or folding the whole thing in half? I used to gather, but that shoulder piece where baby's head will end up used to get folded in half once it was on, but before baby was in, to ensure a good pocket to support the head!
Sorry, been a while since mine were in the moby - did carry DS2 for sleeps while on holiday recently, and he's nearly 2!

On Moby website there are instructions for kangaroo hold which I found much easier with small baby. Maybe worth a try?
