Carrier with good back support

Does anyone have any suggestions, I'm looking for something that has:

• Excellent back support
• Simple to use
• No faffy getting on and off
• Less than £100 new
• Baby is 3mth now but want some use out if it

Have you looked at rose and rebellion or connecta?

I have been looking at the connecta but concerned it doesn't look very supportive for the back-i noticed you can get a lumbar belt but it advises you do this with 18mth+ children, do you know if it is supportive? I had bad SPD when pregnant which contributed to making my already bad back even weaker so am working on core strength but can feel the ache after carrying dd for even just 5 minutes.

both are very supportive well up to one year plus but personally I prefer the rose and rebellion. Is there a slingmeet or library near you?

Another option might be a mei tai (I like pouchlings), these tie which means more adjustibility so more support for you.

I would try to get to a local sling library if you have one. Different buckle carriers suit different people - for instance I don't really like the Rose and Rebellion for me and much prefer the Manduca or Ergo....but it really is personal choice.

Manduca all the way! I love mine and have problems with shoulder/back pain. For me the main plus is you can cross the straps over at your back, rather than just slipping your arms through like a sort of reverse rucksack.

I have a couple of Rose and Rebellion carriers for my 3 month old twins (carried one at a time lol).
I had a major prolapsed disc after my first child which resulted in surgery in Dec 2011 yet I can comfortably use the R&R to carry one while pushing the other two in the buggy. I don't cross the straps but I'm sure if I did it would be even more supportive. I do get some back ache (not pain as such) but a quick sit down for a coffee and I'm good again. I suspect a bit of core work and weight loss would sort me out anyway!
