DD has arrived and is pretty small: 5lbs 12oz. I've got a Moby wrap and want to start using it fairly soon, esp. as I also have DS (3.5) and looks like DH will need to be going back to work sooner than we'd hoped so I'll need to do preschool run etc. The instructions say not to use the newborn hold until 8lbs but its going to be ages until she gets there. Anyone used it with a smaller newborn? Thanks

Ds was in his (not Moby) stretchy at 28 hours old. He was 6lb3 then dropped to 5lb8. I didn't know you weren't supposed to!

He's now 3 months and still loves the sling btw :)

IMO (am a sling consultant) you can use stretchy wraps with smaller newborns. Be very aware of the TICKS guidelines though, especially around supporting their back and ensuring you keep their chin off their chest

Tie it tighter than you think so it feels secure

Congratulations Thanks
